Phonics Suite
Phonics Suite is a comprehensive set of reading intervention materials and strategies to help identify, group and teach students with decoding difficulties. This unique approach to reading intervention is designed to work in an RtI environment, specifically Tier 2 and Tier 3 reading intervention. Includes:
Identify
The Diagnostic Decoding Surveys are complimentary assessments that quickly pinpoint decoding weaknesses in students. Used in 1st–12th grade, the easy to administer surveys provide information about students' word-level reading abilities. Schools use the decoding surveys as a diagnostic tool after screening.
Group
The Grouping Matrix is a web-based, password protected, complimentary computer program that groups students for instruction according to the type and depth of their decoding weaknesses. Enter students’ ORF and Diagnostic Decoding Survey scores online and get immediate reports that group students and recommend instruction.
Teach
Phonics Suite includes two lesson sets: Phonics Blitz and Phonics Boost. The lessons explicitly teach phonemic awareness, phonics concepts, and word attack skills. Students focus on reading accurately, leading to increase fluency and comprehension. The lessons are research-based, multi-sensory, quick, and efficient. Phonics Blitz and Boost lessons teach the same phonics concepts. Students are grouped in either Blitz or Boost based on their decoding weaknesses.
Complementing the lessons are the hands-on teaching materials for both students and teachers. Students love the Student Tile Kits they can use with each lessons. Teachers enjoy instruction with the Large Letter Tile sets.
